Freeform

Many of the collage pieces shown here were created in the early 1980’s and are in national and international collections. These are free-cast cotton and abaca fiber works. The irregular shape gave me an opportunity to enhance the subtle movement within the piece yet yield a dynamic graphic statement that was natural to the paper medium. “Seeker”, among others, was exhibited at the Elements Gallery, my first one-man show in New York. Several of the freeform works, such as “Messenger” and “Affirmation”, were shown in a two-person show at the Monterey Museum of Art in September 1984. “Affirmation” is now part of the collection of the Monterey Conference Center.
